It's Time For Me To Pursue My Studies

Under Malaysia's education system, there are three important examinations that all of the local students must go through. The examinations are Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah(UPSR), Penilaian Menengah Rendah(PMR), and Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia(SPM). As for my batch we must go through all three examinations. I think most of us know about the abolishment of PMR starting from next year (2014) onwards. So, this year is the last batch of the Form 3 students to sit for PMR...

I'm not going to write too much about all those facts about our education system since it's not among the best in the world YET. hehe. It's going to be one of the best soon. I hope so. I'll always think positive about my country and I'll never give bad names to Malaysia.

Currently, I'm very busy becoming a driver of my mother and sisters besides planning a lot of reunions with my fellow ex-schoolmates. And also, I just came back from a trip to Shenzhen and Guangzhou. Seriously, it was a fun but tiring trip!

As for my SPM result, it's not that great but I'm satisfied with my achievement and both of my parents were happy with the result. Of course, after getting the results everybody was very busy completing the forms for the public universities admission and applying for scholarships including me.

We are already in May so it's the time for most of us to pursue our studies. Maybe there are some of the SPM leavers who already pursued their studies as early as January 2013. So, it depends.

I have two offers to choose by this week since the admission is at the end of this month and early next month respectively. The two offers are from Kolej Matrikulasi Pulau Pinang (Penang Matriculation College) and Centre For Foundation Studies International Islamic University Malaysia(CFS IIUM).

I've made my decision with some encouragements and opinions from the people around me including my parents. I'm  going to CFS IIUM! There are many reasons behind my decision which I'll tell you guys in this particular post. However, I can't mention all of the reasons here.

  • IIUM is a well-known university in Malaysia and also in the Islamic world. In fact, there are a lot of foreign students at the main campus since IIUM is affiliated with various international bodies and organizations.
  • English is the main language of the university with Arabic as the second language. So, I can improve my English and learn some basic Arabic.
  • My parents really2 want me to go to IIUM.
  • The course offered to me is my second choice.
  • CFS IIUM is located at Petaling Jaya, Selangor and the main campus is in Gombak, Selangor. So, I'm not going to burden my parents to send me to the other states in Malaysia which is quite far away. But, for the biological studies like Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry; the Centre for Foundation Studies is in Gambang, Pahang (starting from January 2014) and the main campus is situated at Kuantan, Pahang.
  • My father is an alumni of IIUM so he's very excited that I received an offer from CFS IIUM.
  • By entering CFS IIUM, my place at the main campus in Gombak is guaranteed with condition that my CGPA for foundation studies exceeds the minimum requirement.
  • I can stand nearer to Islam and gain more knowledge about Islam. That's the most important reason.
