Projects For Greater KL

I was born and raised in the Klang Valley and until now I'm still living in Kuala Lumpur. Even my schools and colleges are all located in Klang Valley.  So, basically I'm so called "anak jati" Kuala Lumpur despite having Nik in my name. In Malaysia, most of Nik came from Kelantan or east coast states of Peninsular Malaysia.

Being a KLite for almost twenty years made me passionate about the development of my hometown. Kuala Lumpur is one of the most well-known cities in Asia and to some extent globally.

Kuala Lumpur or Klang Valley?
To ignorant Malaysian and curious non-Malaysian, Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia. However, Kuala Lumpur is actually a land-locked area in the middle of the state of Selangor. Population growth in Kuala Lumpur has led to the development of suburb areas like Cheras, Subang Jaya, Puchong, Kajang, Ampang, etc..

Basically, Klang Valley consists of Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding suburb areas where most of them are residential areas and Kuala Lumpur City Centre acts as the main commercial area. Putrajaya, administrative capital of Malaysia is also part of Klang Valley. Sepang, where KLIA and Sepang International Circuit (SIC) are located is also included in the metropolitan region.

Collaboration Between University & Industry

When I took Principles & Practices of Management during my first semester, I learned about human resource management. Mostly, companies will continuously hire new staffs to ensure a stronger growth of their organization each year. They crave for new ideas, higher productivity, better sales figure, etc..

To satisfy the number of workforce demand, employers need sufficient workforce supply. In this case, university is the best place to look for young talents and groom them until they become assets to the company.

Unfortunately, our young graduates especially from local universities are lack of exposure. The only real life scenario they have is during industrial attachment. Most of us are not even aware of vacation internships either, except me. Lol. Everybody focuses on the industrial attachment at the end of the study period which is absolutely insufficient.

Ceh... Terbit

Namun, Blogger ada membuat satu pengumuman di dashboard blog saya, yang tertulis;

Top Countries For Muslim Traveler

Assalamualaikum. Ahlan Wasahlan.

As I mentioned so many times before, travelling makes us slightly different compared to those who are not. We experience different environment such as culture, climate, and food!
Sometimes, we tend to appreciate what we have back in our hometown when travelling around.

However, as a Muslim we are very particular of our obligations towards our God.
We need to perform our obligatory five times daily prayer, eat halal food, and cover our aurah/body parts to name a few.

Not all countries can offer convenience to Muslim travelers around the world.
As fact and figure, Islam is the second largest religion with around 1.6 billion followers which is 23.2% of the world's population and expected to grow to 26.5% of the world's population by 2030.

With that figure, we can conclude that there are a lot of Muslim travelers out here travelling across the continents to spend their money. That is what each nation wants, having tourists spend their money in their respective country to contribute to their Gross National Income (GNI).

Tourism sector is the best back-up economic plan for all countries, methinks.
Just look at UAE, they realized that their oil is going to finish soon that they immediately develop Dubai to become one of the most top destinations in the world.
Nowadays, everybody knows what Dubai is. It is a freaking rich city located at the Arab Peninsular. Same goes to Doha, Qatar.

Top 20 Universities in ASEAN

ASEAN or Association of South-East Asian Nations is the 7th largest economy in the world, 3rd largest economy in Asia, and interestingly still growing. By having large economy, of course it is going to be among the focal points of the global market.

In order for ASEAN to keep growing and remain competitive, each country needs enough human resources. When we are talking about human capital or talent, means we need more people who are qualified to be part of the development.

At the end of the day, we must refer back to the fundamental of human resource which is education. Education is an effective traditional way of shaping the future generation and yes it will remain as the most important aspect in our life. Through education, we can produce civilized and educated society.

ASEAN consists of well-known countries like Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Many of the ASEAN members are developing rapidly and all countries need their future generation to retain the growth pattern of their respective countries.

Ten Most Popular Cities

It has been quite some time since the last time I share about tourism, and also ranking.
I love travelling, and this year I traveled to two most populated cities in Indonesia; Jakarta and Bandung.

Since I love travelling, so automatically I love to share some information regarding tourism.
Travelling around makes us slightly different compared to others. Maybe because we can see different cultures, environment, development, and many more.
We even tried different kinds of food! Haha

If let say, we saw something better than our nation, then we might want to contribute something to our motherland so that it will be on par with those countries that we think much better than us in many aspects.
However, if we saw something worse; we will try to preserve whatever our nation has achieved so far. We will be more thankful with what we have back in our hometown.

Travelling definitely changes people, and how they view this temporary world.

So, which are the ten most popular cities in 2015 among travelers around the world?
The ranking below was made by CNN.

First Sem, What Have I Learned?

Being a computer science or information technology student you need a lot of passion and patience.

Why? Mainly because you have to discover the latest technology on your own since it is evolving every second. Other than that, since this is among the youngest field of education among all; many are still underestimate the capabilities of ICT sector. Even the demand for IT specialists is much higher than the number of workforce supply.

I just completed my first semester as an undergraduate ICT student in IIUM, I haven't decide on my major yet because we have to complete our first year before deciding either to pursue in Information Technology/System or Computer Science.

So far so good, most of the syllabi are related with what I've learned when I was in foundation year.
I learned C-language during foundation and C++ during my first sem bachelor's degree for the basic or elements of programming.

Ta'aruf Week UIA Gombak

I just finished my first semester, first year in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM/UIA) Gombak campus. So I guess, this is the time to share a little bit about IIUM.

There are two campuses for undergraduate which are Gombak campus and Kuantan campus. Soon, there will be one more campus in Pagoh, Johor allocated for Kulliyyah of Languages & Management (KLM) which temporarily located at my faculty.
Kuantan campus is mainly for the science-based programmes like Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Mathematics, Physics, and so forth. Meanwhile, Gombak campus is where the other non-science programmes are located except for Engineering and IT/Computer Science.

Since I'm studying at Kulliyah of Information & Communication Technology (KICT), so I will focus on Ta'aruf Week at the Gombak campus. What is Ta'aruf Week? Simple, it is an orientation week.

The First Bus Rapid Transit in Malaysia

A good city must have a systematic public transportation system. There are a lot of advantages of encouraging people to use public transport. However, the only way to attract people using public transport is by providing the good and efficient services.

In Klang Valley, about only 20% of the population are using public transport and the rest use their own vehicles. This figure leads to traffic congestion around many roads and highways in the metropolitan region. Even though roads and highways here in Malaysia are among the best in Asia. It won't help the society until we have the efficient public transportation system.

Other than heavy traffic, too many vehicles on the road can cause pollution - noise and air pollution for instance. In addition to open burning in Sumatera, Indonesia, high usage of vehicles will worsen haze in Malaysia. We do have hybrid car here, but it is not that popular even with a lot of initiatives by the government and public sector.

Actually, I just want to introduce a new and the latest public transport system in Malaysia. We already have intercity & intracity  electric train, LRT, MRT is under contruction, Monorail, bus, and taxi.

Now, we are going to add another one on the list which is Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).

Top 10 Schools in KL for SPM 2014

SPM result was just released a few days ago. As usual, I will share the top ten schools in Kuala Lumpur.

The schools are ranked by Gred Purata Sekolah (GPS) or School Average Grade. For GPS, the lower means better performance. Percentage of straight As does matter but the most important thing is the overall performance of the school.

To calculate the GPS, each subject and student are taken into consideration. Nobody is left in the calculation. This is the reason why GPS is used for the ranking, it is obviously more comprehensive than the percentage of straight As.

To get lower GPS is not that easy especially for non-boarding school. In the boarding schools, all of the students scored straight As during PMR. So, the weakest student can score at least C in any subjects during SPM. Unlike normal schools where there are students who cannot even read properly.

All teachers must ensure no students are left out in order to get very low GPS. If the teachers or schools only focus on the top students, low GPS will be absolutely impossible.

Enough about the ranking procedure, let us proceed to the ranking.

New 7 Wonders Cities

Hey there!

I'm sure most of us are familiar with the New 7 Wonders of The World that recognized monuments such as The Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu, and Taj Mahal to name a few.

On 11.11.11, New7Wonders revealed the New 7 Wonders of Nature which recognized natures like Ha Long Bay, Jeju Island, and Komodo Island.

The recognition by New7Wonders (N7W) Foundation to all of the chosen ones has increased the popularity of each destination and making the wonders as the tourism hotspots.

Let me tell you a little bit about New7Wonders Foundation.
Founded by a Swiss-born Canadian filmmaker, Bernard Weber in 2001.
